This was probably my favorite meal of our trip to San Diego. The catch of the day fish sandwich was incredible! I forget what kind of fish it was, but it was a white fish and it was so fresh and juicy. It was lightly grilled for a subtle flavor and topped with fresh produce. The brioche bun was soft and didn't taste like it had been mass produced. My mouth waters as I type this this from our visit weeks ago. The salad was also nicely presented and very fresh.
My only complaint is that I wanted to take a look at the dessert menu but the menu never came and we had to get going so never got to experience dessert.
Fresh & delicious seafood!
The seafood tower was an excellent choice, I recommend getting the “grand” version. All the items are so fresh & tasty. The white fish spread was our favorite.
We choose multiple dishes to try and share. I recommend doing this, since there so many good dishes. Since the restaurant is also a market, you can see the different crustaceans and fish options inside the restaurant.
Came here for the first time today, and it was delightfully surprising how good it was! The place wasn't busy at all, which I found odd, but the service was outstanding and the food was super good. The clams with saffron linguine were absolutely to die for, and the drinks were super unique and delicious. Would recommend if you're in the area!
There is a wait even with reservations on a Saturday night, they get busy! But the service is thoughtful and they take time to explain and suggest very clearly. The food is excellent, the seafood is truly the freshest in San Diego. Due to how busy they were, dinner course took a while to come out, but was worth the wait for the King Salmon. The Halibut was slightly underwhelming, whitefish is generally mild. However; if done well it can be excellent (it was not mind-blowing). The hamachi carpaccio is sweet and refreshing and the scallop the curd is in an interesting coconut citrus sauce. Both are a must-try.
First off, Eric is phenomenal. Had us, recommended the sour dough, praised the crudo, just great. Light lunch but what we needed after a coffee and a little jaunt
The fish was fresh and delicious. Plates were very small though, so don’t expect to feel super full after eating here especially if you’re trying to keep the budget under $200.
I had a table for two and we spent $230 and while the food was very good we were still slightly hungry afterwards and we didn’t arrive super hungry. In that way, it’s more of a fine dining experience.
The server was pretty great and attentive. Kind of slow at times but I think that was intentional. The people cleaning and running dishes were very timely and on top of things.
The atmosphere is pretty nice, but as soon as it got dark, it got really hard to see in the restaurant. I would just consider turning the lights up a bit.
Pictured is the pacific swordfish dish.
Best experience all around! Atmosphere, Customer service, and Hospitality were exceptional. The FOOD ? Not sure I could properly describe the flavors, textures, and the sophistication of the dishes we enjoyed last night. 5 stars all around! Stephen and Phil are experienced in their craft and such a pleasure to have hosting our dinner at the Fishery. We will definitely be coming back!
**side note - returned to Phoenix today and was chatting with a stranger at a local restaurant . I wanted to share my amazing experience with her, but she was very familiar the Fishery and had very similar reviews as to how AMAZING this place is. I highly recommend the swordfish chop and carpaccio!!
I picked this restaurant randomly from google map during my visit to San Diego. Surprisingly it’s one of the best seafood restaurant I ever tried! Everything is delicious with nice details. I literally liked every course! The service is good too, friendly and caring. 5 star plus recommendations!
